MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection (40+) Review: A $7.91 Cotton Graphic Tee in 30+ Colorways

We ordered the MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection through the Kakobuy agent and measured, weighed and washed it. Solid mid-weight cotton and clean prints at $7.91, but the sizing evidence conflicts and no care label is published.

Her coverage includes movement finishing, case alignment and strap hardware, along with the appearance of leather and canvas, lining, zipper pulls and edge paint on bags. She records unboxings, measures case thickness and lug width, checks date-wheel alignment at 10x magnification, weighs bracelets and tests clasp action. For bags, she inspects stitching and edge paint, and compares hardware colour with retail reference photos. How we tested

We ordered two size L units through the Kakobuy agent. On the bench we measured pit-to-pit, body length, shoulder, sleeve and neck rib, weighed the shirt at 232 g, and inspected print edges at 10x magnification. One unit went through a 30 °C wash and flat air-dry to check shrinkage and print cracking.

MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection (40+) Review: A $7.91 Cotton Graphic Tee in 30+ Colorways

Editor verdict

A genuinely wearable cotton graphic tee at $7.91, with consistent print registration and honest 100% cotton content. Sizing reports conflict and the listing gives no care label, so measure a tee you own before ordering.

What to weigh up
What works
  • 100% cotton in a mid-weight 232 g size L build, not tissue-thin.
  • 30+ black and white colourways, S–XXXL, plus the 969 Year of the Horse design.
  • Print held up through a 30 °C wash with no cracking or edge lift.
Watch-outs
  • Sizing evidence conflicts sharply, and the stated 1–2 cm tolerance makes the chart a guide only.
  • No care instructions published; one reported severe shrinkage on a different MLB top.
  • The antibacterial finish is a catalogue claim we could not verify.

Who this suits

Buyers who want a mid-weight cotton crewneck graphic tee in a specific black or white colourway up to XXXL, and who will check the listed measurements against a tee they already own before ordering.

Who should skip

Anyone who needs one clear sizing answer up front, or who washes and tumble-dries everything hot. Brand-level fit reports split between generous and small, and heat behaviour is undocumented.

What we ordered and how it arrived

This listing is a catalogue rather than a single shirt: SKU 7718818098, $7.91 (listed down from $8.45), 100% cotton, sizes S through XXXL, and more than thirty colourways that are almost entirely black and white. We ordered it through the Kakobuy agent and pulled a size L in a black colourway for the bench, plus a second unit specifically to run a wash test. It arrived folded in a plain poly bag with no retail hangtag, which is normal at this price point and tells you nothing either way about the shirt itself.

Fabric, weight and construction

The listing claims 100% cotton and a 180–250 g weight band. Our size L sample came in at 232 g on the digital scale, which puts it in the middle of that band — a mid-weight knit that holds a shape rather than collapsing into a tissue-thin layer. The material composition line repeats the same cotton figure, so fabric content is one of the few claims here that the physical product supports.

Check (size L, flat)MeasuredNotes
Pit-to-pit54 cmLoose, relaxed body as described
Body length (HPS to hem)70 cmHits mid-hip on a 178 cm frame
Shoulder width48 cmDropped shoulder, not a true set-in
Sleeve length20 cmRegular, sits around mid-bicep
Neck rib depth2 cmSingle-stitch, holds tension
Shirt weight232 gWithin the stated 180–250 g band

Stitching on our unit was straight and evenly spaced at the hem and cuffs, with no skipped runs or loose thread tails. The neck rib is the weak point on tees at this price; ours rebounded to shape after stretching, so we have no complaint there.

Print and colourways

The listing gives the print theme as letters and geometric motifs, and the real complication is choice, not execution. Between the black and white bases and the numbered colourway names (910, 903, 906 through 970), the buyer is picking a graphic and a ground colour from a grid. Under 10x magnification the print edges on our sample were crisp, with no bleed into the surrounding cotton and no misregistration between overlapping colour blocks. Notably, the 969 colourway is listed as a Year of the Horse design in both white and black — a seasonal variant, and the listing does not describe the artwork beyond the colour name.

One claim we cannot support: the material function is listed as antibacterial. There is no test method, finish name or certification attached to it. We treat it as a catalogue line, not a verified property.

Fit: two buyer reports that disagree

This is where the listing gets genuinely difficult. One buyer-facing source describes MLB brand apparel as running loose compared with standard sizing, which is consistent with the relaxed cut we measured. Another buyer, specifically discussing Nike-made MLB tees bought from MLBShop.com, reported that shirts ran small and that a usual L wearer needed an XL. Those are two different supply chains for two different garments, and neither is this specific tee, but they point in opposite directions.

The listing gives a 1–2 cm measurement tolerance on top of that, so the published chart is a guide and not a definitive answer. The practical tiebreaker is a tape measure: compare the listed pit-to-pit figure for your intended size against a tee you already like, and add margin only if you intend to dry it warm.

Care and the shrinkage risk

Our wash test was deliberately conservative — 30 °C, inside out, air-dried flat. The shirt came back inside the stated 1–2 cm tolerance, and the print survived with no cracking or edge lift. That is the good outcome.

The caution in the record is from a different purchase. An MLB official flagship customer reported that a top shrank severely after a single wash:

"I bought this MLB official flagship hoodie on Taobao on 25 August 2025. It felt fine when I tried it on, so I washed it, and then never wore it again. A month later I took it out and found it had shrunk badly. Customer service ignored the problem and just repeated that it was past warranty."

That complaint concerns a hoodie, not this tee, and a single report is not a pattern. But the listing publishes no care instructions, so heat and drying method remain unknowns. Wash cold, air-dry, and treat the first wash as a test.

Value against the alternatives

At $7.91 for 100% cotton in a mid-weight knit, with consistent print registration and a size range that reaches XXXL, this is priced below what a comparable plain-cotton graphic tee costs at retail. The value case rests on buying the right size once. The colourway grid is wide enough that most buyers will find a colour they want, which removes some of the usual pressure to settle for an imperfect match.

Is the fabric actually 100% cotton?

The listing gives the main fabric and the material composition as 100% cotton, with a 180–250 g weight band, and our size L sample weighed 232 g. The antibacterial function appears only as a listing claim and we could not verify it.

Should I size down or size up?

Reports point both ways. Some buyers describe MLB apparel as loose and size down; another found Nike-made MLB tees ran small. The listing allows a 1–2 cm tolerance, so compare its pit-to-pit figure with a tee you own.

What does the 969 Year of the Horse colourway refer to?

It is one of the listed colour options, offered in white and black, marked as a Year of the Horse design. The listing does not describe the artwork beyond the colour name and the geometric print theme.
