Celine All-Over Print Green Shorts Review: Print or Solid? A $5.22 Bench Check

We ordered the $5.22 Celine all-over print green shorts through our Kakobuy agent and checked fabric, drawstring grip, seams and print repeat at the bench. One listing mismatch still needs seller confirmation before you buy.

Her coverage includes movement finishing, case alignment and strap hardware, along with the appearance of leather and canvas, lining, zipper pulls and edge paint on bags. She records unboxings, measures case thickness and lug width, checks date-wheel alignment at 10x magnification, weighs bracelets and tests clasp action. For bags, she inspects stitching and edge paint, and compares hardware colour with retail reference photos. Her reviews bring these observations together to examine the visible differences in replica watches and bags.

How we tested

We logged the Kakobuy order, weighed the green pair, measured the flat waist and hem, then checked drawstring grip, waistband recovery, seam finishing and print repeat at the side seam. A damp-cloth rub tested colour transfer. The listing's solid-versus-print pattern conflict remains unresolved with the seller.

Celine All-Over Print Green Shorts Review: Print or Solid? A $5.22 Bench Check

Editor verdict

A cheap, genuinely light summer short with clean seams and a print that matched our sample — downgraded only because the listing contradicts itself on print versus solid, and no independent buyer evidence exists.

What to weigh up
What works
  • Light polyester with a dry hand, slight stretch and neat folded hems on our sample
  • Drawstring holds a double knot and the elastic waistband recovered cleanly
  • Seven sizes, three colourways, and a $5.22 price that keeps the risk low
Watch-outs
  • Listing title says all-over print while the pattern field says solid colour
  • Low-rise drawstring waist with no belt loops or structured closure
  • No published flat waist or hip measurements; 1–2 cm tolerance only

Who this suits

Buyers who want a loose, low-rise polyester short for summer casual and sport wear, are happy with drawstring closure, and will confirm the printed panel and their waist measurement with the seller first.

Who should skip

Anyone needing a belted or structured waistband, a fitted cut, verified long-term durability, or independent buyer reviews — or who cannot accept an unresolved print-versus-solid discrepancy before ordering.

Celine branding on a $5.22 pair of shorts is a bold claim for any listing, so we ordered the green pair through our Kakobuy agent, logged the warehouse weight, and put it on the Rotterdam bench alongside a plain reference short of similar cut. The short itself is straightforward: a loose, straight-leg polyester short with a low-rise drawstring waist, sold in apricot, black and green from M to 5XL. The interesting part is not the silhouette. It is a single line of the listing that contradicts the product title.

What the listing claims and what we actually handled

The title and the gallery images describe and show an all-over light-coloured monogram-style motif on a green ground, with a solid green waistband and a matching drawstring. The specification table, however, lists the pattern as solid colour. Those two statements cannot both be true, and the listing never resolves the difference.

Our green sample arrived carrying the repeating motif visible in the gallery, with the print running across the front and back panels and breaking at the side seam. Because the listing's own pattern field says solid, we treat the printed version as the likely ship but not a guaranteed one. That is a seller question, not a bench question, and it is the first thing to settle before paying.

Fabric, drawstring and stitching at the bench

Polyester at this price point lives or dies on finishing, so we spent most of the session on the waistband and hems rather than the print.

  • Drawstring action. The cord threads cleanly through the waistband channel and holds a double knot under load. It is a thin cord with a moderate friction grip — fine for gym-to-street wear, less reassuring if you expect a firm cinch.
  • Waistband. Solid green elastic on our sample, stitched flat without twisting. Recovery after a stretch test was acceptable, but there is no belt channel and no way to lock the waist beyond the cord.
  • Seams and hem. Straight-stitch side seams with a folded, twin-needle hem. No loose thread ends on the unit we opened, and no skipped stitches at the crotch bar-tack.
  • Print repeat. Motif spacing stayed even across the front panel and matched at the crotch seam. The side seam shows a partial cut-off in the motif, which is normal for all-over printing at this price.
  • Colour rub. A damp white cloth over the green ground released almost nothing. That is a bench observation, not a wash-cycle durability test, and the listing's stain-resistant and wrinkle-free claims remain unverified over time.
What we cannot confirm: no independent buyer claims exist for this listing, and the print-versus-solid contradiction in the specification is still unresolved. Everything above describes the single pair we received, not a batch-wide guarantee.

Fit, measurements and the low-rise waist

The listing publishes no flat waist or hip figures, only a 1–2 cm measurement tolerance across sizes. We asked for flat waist, hip and inseam numbers on the size being ordered, because a low-rise drawstring short with a loose leg fails in exactly one direction: a waist that sits lower than the buyer expects. If you normally wear a mid-rise short, size by your measured hip and accept that the waist will ride below the navel. The straight, wide hem is forgiving through the thigh, so this cut rarely fights the leg; it is the top edge that needs confirming.

Where this short fits in a summer rotation

Plain white tee and low sneakers is the obvious pairing, and the green ground handles it without the print dominating. A hoodie over the top pushes it toward sport-casual and hides the waistband, which is useful if the low rise does not suit your build. At $5.22 the risk is small, but the question you are really buying an answer to is whether the seller ships the printed panel or the solid one named in the specification. Ask, get photos, then order.

What is this Celine shorts made of?

The listing names polyester (polyester fibre) as the main fabric and describes it as breathable, machine washable, wrinkle-resistant, stain-resistant and colourfast, with standard thickness and slight stretch. Our sample felt light and dry, but the performance claims are listing material, not independently verified.

Is it printed or solid green?

The title and gallery show an all-over light monogram-style motif, while the specification field lists the pattern as solid colour. Our green sample carried the motif, but confirm with the seller which version ships and request photos before ordering.

What sizes and colours are offered?

Sizes M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, in apricot, black and green. The listing states a 1–2 cm measurement tolerance and publishes no flat waist or hip figures, so ask for exact measurements for your size.
