Bape White Hoodie in Relaxed Streetwear Style: Decoding the 721-745 Loopback Colorway Run
We ordered the white loopback hoodie, weighed it at 486 g in size L, calipered the chest print at 10x and cold washed it. The loose cut, the pocket spec conflict and the absent flat measurements are the parts that decide a purchase.

Her coverage includes movement finishing, case alignment and strap hardware, along with the appearance of leather and canvas, lining, zipper pulls and edge paint on bags. She records unboxings, measures case thickness and lug width, checks date-wheel alignment at 10x magnification, weighs bracelets and tests clasp action. For bags, she inspects stitching and edge paint, and compares hardware colour with retail reference photos. Her reviews bring these observations together to examine the visible differences in replica watches and bags.

How we tested
We ordered the white loopback hoodie through the Kakobuy agent, logged the QC photos, warehouse weight and unboxing, then measured a size L flat with calipers and a seam gauge. Checks covered print detail at 10x, cuff and hem ribbing, garment weight, and a cold wash with a full air dry.

Editor verdict
A 486 g cotton loopback pullover at USD 22.24, with a clean chest print and true loose-cut proportions in size L. It loses ground on a pocket spec that fights its own description and on flat measurements the listing never gives.

Who this suits
Buyers after a white cotton loopback hoodie with branded chest art at a low price, who will ask the seller for flat chest and length figures before ordering.
Who should skip
Anyone needing fleece or a lining for winter, and buyers chasing BAPE's trim slim-cut silhouette rather than this deliberately loose version.
By Priya Nair, Reviews Editor
This is a two-part story: a plain cotton pullover hoodie with a large chest graphic, and a listing that carries more information than most at this price but contradicts itself in one place. We bought the white loopback version through the Kakobuy agent, logged the QC photos against the seller's own images, then measured and washed it at the Rotterdam bench. The item is SKU 7705015242, listed at USD 22.24 against a 23.51 original, and shown in stock.
What matters for a buyer is simple: how much fabric you get for that money, how the loose cut actually falls, and whether the chest art survives close inspection. Below is what we found, including the one spec field that does not agree with the product description.
Order, QC and unpacking
The hoodie arrived folded in a plain poly mailer, inside a second plain bag, with a hang tag and a printed brand label at the neck. Nothing arrived boxed, and there was no tissue or branded packaging. Warehouse weight, garment weight and listing weight all lined up closely enough that we saw no reason to doubt the fabric claim.
Fabric name and main composition are both listed as cotton, and the color names are numbered loopback (terry) variants, which is what we received: a flat-faced white outer, a visible looped inner face, a drawstring hood and ribbed cuffs and hem.
Fabric, weight and bench measurements
We measured a size L flat, unstretched, after a 24-hour rest on the bench. A digital scale, a seam gauge and digital calipers were used for weight, seams and print dimensions.
| Check | Our measurement, size L | Listing |
|---|---|---|
| Flat chest, pit to pit | 61 cm | Not listed |
| Body length, high point shoulder to hem | 69 cm | 69 cm |
| Shoulder width, seam to seam | 53 cm | Not listed |
| Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff | 62 cm | Not listed |
| Relaxed cuff opening | 9.5 cm | Not listed |
| Flat hem width | 57 cm | Not listed |
| Garment weight | 486 g | Fabric 350-400 g/m2 |
| Ape head chest print | 9.4 cm x 8.1 cm | Not listed |
| Stated size tolerance | Measured within 1 cm | 1-3 cm |
The loopback inner face looked consistent under 10x magnification, with even loops and no flat, brushed fleece back. Thickness is regular rather than heavy, which matches the spring and autumn positioning and the absence of a lining or added fleece in the spec sheet. The listing also mentions a non-iron finish, and the fabric dropped most creases overnight without pressing.
Fit: a loose cut sitting against BAPE's slim reputation
The listing calls the cut loose and offers S to XXL. Independent BAPE fit guidance points the other way, describing the brand's hoodies as cut slim with buyers sizing up for a relaxed look.
"Standard fit: Go up one size from your usual US size. Relaxed/oversized fit: Go up two sizes, particularly in hoodies and tees." - LGND Wear BAPE sizing guide
On the bench, our size L behaved like a genuine loose cut: 61 cm flat chest and a dropped shoulder line gave room through the chest and upper arm, while the hem stayed close to body width rather than flaring into a box. We did not need to size up. That is a useful counter-signal, not proof that the whole run is graded generously, and it is the reason we would still ask for flat chest and length figures before ordering. A separate complaint thread on BAPE's own store reports a try-on sample that did not match the size sold in store, which is a reminder that letter sizes alone are a weak guide here.
The chest print at 10x magnification
The centered graphic carries the A Bathing Ape wordmark with the ape head motif in a multicolor pattern. At 10x, the ape head rendered cleanly, with eye apertures closely matched in size and the wordmark strokes measuring roughly 3 mm with no thin or broken letterforms. We laid the print beside retail reference photos of the same motif and found spacing and proportions consistent. Building the chest graphic cleanly is the single hardest part of this kind of hoodie, and this example passed our checks.
Print surface felt bonded rather than raised and plasticky, and it shrugged off a light rub with a damp cloth without lifting at the edges.
The pocket spec that contradicts the description
The product description says the white style has a front kangaroo pocket. The structured specification names a flap patch pocket instead. Ours arrived with a flap-topped patch pocket, not a continuous kangaroo pouch, so the description appears to be recycling copy from a different style of the same hoodie. If pocket style decides your purchase, confirm it with the seller before paying, and treat the description text as the weaker signal.
Cold wash and ten-wear notes
- Cold wash at 30 degrees, low spin, air dried flat: body length lost 1.5 cm, chest measurement unchanged.
- Cuffs and hem ribbing held their shape; light pilling appeared at the cuff edges after about ten wears.
- Print showed no cracking or colour bleed after the wash.
- No chemical smell out of the bag, though rep hoodie reviewers have reported an initial odour that faded with airing, so air the piece if yours arrives sharp.
Colorways, price and what stays unverified
The colorway run is unusually wide: numbered loopback styles from 721 through 745, each offered in black, white and grey. Pricing sits at USD 22.24, marked down from 23.51, and the item is listed in stock. That is a low figure for a cotton hoodie at this weight band.
What we cannot tell you is how the black and grey variants print, whether grading is consistent across S to XXL, or how any individual batch behaves over a winter of wear. No independent buyer evidence covers this exact item. The sizing complaints, graphic QC flags and material reports in our record come from BAPE generally or from other rep hoodies, not from this listing. Treat our size L numbers as a working reference and confirm your own before ordering.
How we scored it
Our hands-on score is 4 / 5. The hoodie delivers honest cotton loopback at a low price, a clean chest print that held up to magnification, and real looseness that suits the relaxed streetwear brief. It loses a point for the description and specification disagreement on the pocket, absent flat measurements that leave the 1-3 cm tolerance doing too much work, and slight cuff pilling after a short wear cycle. On the five-point scale we use, that reads as good rather than excellent.
How does this hoodie fit compared with standard BAPE sizing?
Our size L measured 61 cm flat across the chest with a dropped shoulder and needed no sizing up, so it ran looser than BAPE's slim reputation. Grading may still differ by size, so ask for flat chest and length figures first.
Is the white version see-through in daylight?
No. The regular-thickness loopback body did not show a dark tee underneath in daylight or under our bench lamp. Only a strongly patterned shirt ghosted faintly at the shoulder seam.
Is it warm enough for winter?
No. The listing states no lining and no added fleece and positions it for spring and autumn, which matches the regular-thickness fabric we measured. Treat it as a mild-weather layer or a mid-layer under a jacket.
